90 Classic Books for People in a Hurry by Henrik Lange
Do you want to read 90 of the world’s best and most popular novels in one sitting? From “Ulysses” to “Pride & Prejudice” to “The Great Gatsby” to “One Hundred Years of Solitude”—again, all in one sitting where you get to chuckle even at “Clockwork Orange” and “Frankenstein?” Well, thanks to Henrik Lange, now you can with his tongue-in-cheek, “90 Classic Books for People in a Hurry.”
“90 Classic…” isn’t exactly a graphic novel but it is a graphic compilation and retelling of classic and popular literature in history in just three to four panels with a heavy dose of humor both in terms of text and drawings. Surprisingly, he is faithful, at least as far as the novels that I am familiar with, although I disagree with his version of the Bible. Nevertheless, if you want to impress anyone with your literary knowledge, you can try to bluff your way with this book. Just make sure you’re not talking to someone with a Ph.D. in literature.
