Pride and Prejudice (Graphic Novel) by Ian Edginton

I just feel so giddy about this particular graphic novel adapation. And why not? It’s Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and it’s from SelfMade Hero! From the artwork on the cover alone, you can definitely judge this book! This is the best renderings of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy and that includes Jennifer Ehle, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Lawrence Olivier and Greer Garson. Robert Deas’ drawings of Lizzie & Mr. Darcy could serve as basis for next screen adaptation! Ian Edginton’s adaptation is better than all TV and film adaptations, well, perhaps except for the Colin Firth version. This graphic novel is a wonderful alternative to those who don’t like reading text novels as it pays proper tribute to one of the world’s most enduring classic while staying true to its comic vision by keeping the feel of a comic book thus making for a pleasurable read for graphic lit stalkers like me. SelfMade Hero, you’re my hero!
