The Hound of the Baskervilles (Graphic Novel) by Martin Powell, Jamie Chase
Dark Horse’s adaptation is faithful to the Sherlock Holmes story and does not lose any of the foreboding theme given its dark artwork. The treatment is as we Filipinos phrase it, “komiks na komiks ang dating” (comics to the core) but not juvenile though. This is a good read for those who are not familiar with the story at all or even to the real Sherlock Holmes (step aside, Robert Downey, Jr.). It is good for those who have only seen the film or TV versions and have not read the text. It is the best option for those who want to read but are turned off by text. It is also good for those who have read and seen all adaptations and versions and can never get enough of them like me! In short, this Dark Horse version is in the lead for those who want to enjoy the most popular story of the world’s first consulting detective.
